Pictures of Apache Indian children at VBS

Some people brought even their babies to Jesus so he could touch them.
When the followers saw this, they told them to stop. But Jesus called for the children saying

"Let the children come
to me.

Don't stop them,
because the kingdom of God
belongs to people who
are like these children.
I tell you the truth, you must
accept the kingdom of God as if
you were a child, or
Posted by Picasayou will never enter it."
Luke 18:15-17

PRAISE THE LORD THAT OUR TEAM GOT HOME TO MEMPHIS BEFORE THESE DANGEROUS STORM HIT THE CITY

When our team got to our gate to return home to Memphis we were being told that the
weather was to bad to fly into and that we would be flying to Little Rock or we could
take a later flight to Memphis. The flight was overbooked and they wanted some people
to change flights.

Our leader decided to get on the flight and land in Little Rock if the weather in Memphis
doesn't allow the plane to land there.

This is definitely a GOD thing. We were able to "beat the storm" and land in Memphis.

It would had been a major hassle to land in Little Rock and find a way to Memphis-either
renting a van. taking a bus, another connecting flight when able to fly into Memphis.

God was good.

We had a tornado touch down at I40 and Germantown Parkway near Kohl's and Kirkland.
Northbond Germantown Parkway is closed down. So this was a big, major, severe storm
the plane flew over and before this morning. We arrived in Memphis about 2pm.
It was really cloudy but not raining when we touched down. This big, bad storm was on
the way. The landing was smooth and without any anxiety.

There is also flooding in Collierville. There might be a tornado touchdown in Olive Branch, MS.

The Countrywood area was hit hard this afternoon. There's alot of power outage.
Please pray for those in Memphis affected by flooding , tornadoes, trees on roofs, power outages, stuck in major traffic jam on I40.
Please pray for City of Memphis.

Third and last VS at the Church of Calvary

On Tuesday and 3rd night of VBS with the San Carlos Apache children, several team members
did a skit about the paralytic dropped through the roof by his friends so he could see Jesus
and be healed.

Skylar played the paralytic and when Jesus healed him, he ran out of the church screaming
in joy. The children were so cute, MOST RAN OUT AFTER him.

We did facepainting, crafts and baseball outside. We told them about Jesus. Many have been
exposed to our Saviour and knew who he is.

The children love baseball. That's what they wanted to play every night.

On the last and final night, Pastor Chris was so happy to see so many children at the VBS.
We had 12 the first evening, 16 the second evening, 15 both the 3rd and last night.
These precious children are so important for this tribe of Indians. The future of Christianity
and embracing Christ as their Lord and Saviour are in these children. The children are the
ones to bring Jesus to the San Carlos Apache Indians.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ALL THE CHILDREN WHO ATTENDED OUR VBS-
THAT THEY WILL GROW IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS AND EMBRACE JESUS
OUR THEIR LORD AND SAVIOUR.

Please pray for their parents and Grandparents to come with the children to Sunday
service at the church of Calvary.

#rd morning of church painting and minor fix-up

Our mission team got to the worksite around 7Am to finish up painting the trim around the
church a earthy red. We worked until 10:30 finishing up what we set out to do on this mission
trip. We wanted to get completed, backed to the hotel in Globe, cleaned up to check out at
1PM.

Our believing friends from Freedom Gate church were invaluable partners in this mission trip.
Without their devotion, sacrifice, servant heart we could have never accomplished as much as
we did on this trip. This group of believers was the body of Christ to our mission team.

We appreciate everything the believers from Freedom Gate church in Phoenix did for our
team while serving the Church of Calvary.

After checking out of the hotel we spent the afternoon visiting an Indian pueblo archealogical
,museum in Globe. This was a time of just fellowshipping with our team members and
our friends from Freedom Gate.

We had to get back to the work site by 5pm for the last night cookout and VBS.

Monday evening VBS-Praise the Lord for the precious 16 Apache children who came to VBS

Thank you Jesus for the 12 children who returned from Sunday evening VBS plus 4 more for
16 precious Apache children.

Michelle ,Kimberlee, Kim, Claudia lead singing time and group lesson time.

Tonight's story is about Jesus and Peter walking on water. Kim told the story and
told the children that with Jesus we should never fear anything. When Peter started to fear and
doubt while walking on water to Jesus THEN he sank into the sea of Galilee.

The whole lesson was with Jesus we are safe and to go to him in times of need.

After group story time the children broke up into 4 groups for facepainting, crafts, snack and
outdoor games.

They love playing baseball. Even the girls started playing outside with the boys. Donna and
son Skylar, Vicky and son Troy did the outdoor ball game with the children.

really Donna and Skylar played against all the children. They want to hit the ball and run the bases. The children would just line up and didn't really play teams. One little boy Brandon
just stayed on and the others ran right by him.
They were so precious. They just ran from the outfield and got in line to hit the ball whether or not their team was up at bat.

All these children really enjoyed themselves. We tried to reinforce the lesson about with Jesus
they should never fear.

Please play for these 16 Apache Indian children that they will grow strong in the faith and
go out amongst their people to share Christ with their people.

We don't follow a religion or denomination. We follow Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and support for these mission trip and for the Apache Indians.

Praise the Lord that we got a lot done this morning with painting the outside of the Church of Calvary and no one got ill

Our team plus Susan Bennett and members of her church in Phoenix, Freedom Gate Church
got out to the church site on the reservation at 7AM. We started work early on the church to
avoid working in the mid day heat and sun.

Although it was very hot out at the site today, everyone stayed hydrated and no one got heat sickening this morning. We rotated 2 teams of 5 each every 15 minutes with working on the
outside of church with resting/working inside the church. This way we could keep the work
going while taking needed breaks to get out of the sun and heat.

Please keep praying that we all will stay healthy throughout the next 2 days of working
on this church.

We have another VBS at the church this evening.
Please pray for a great harvest and more Apache children to come to VBS this evening.

Claudia

Praise the Lord for the 12 Apache children who came to our first evening VBS at Church of Calvary

The team members really enjoyed having those 12 precious Apache children come to Sunday
evenings first Vacation Bible school at the Church of Calvary.

These Apache Indian children have great big smiles on their faces while they enjoyed face painting,
crafts, outdoor games and snack.

We started the vbs with Beth telling them about Jesus fishing for man when he sat by the
shore of Sea of Galilee and cooked fish for his disciples. Jesus then told his first disciples that
they are fishers of man. Nathan our 11th team member from West Virginia via Freedom Gate
Church entertained the children with a short skit.

The children rotated through 4 stations-facing, decorating cookies, writing the names of 3 people they could share Jesus with on a face then cutting out that face, playing games with
Skylar and Mom Donna, Troy and Mom Vickie. Skylar and Troy are middle schoolers who
came on this trip with their mothers.

All these precious Apache Indian children hear about Jesus and how he was a fisher of man.
When they sat at each table or played outdoor games, each team member got to interact with
these precious children of God. We encouraged them to share Jesus with their Mom and Dad,
Aunts and Uncles, friends, neighbors.

Children's carnival outreach at Swap Meet on Saturday

Mission trip update

The team arrived safely to Phoenix at 8:30 AM Phoenix time after a 2 hour flight from Memphis.

The person who picked us up at the airport easily found us at the baggage pick-up. His name''s Nate and is a part of our mission team. He will be with us throughout the trip along with Susan
Bennett from the Freedom Gate church. He's a pleasant surprise-very nice and has a large heart
for the Apache Indians.

On Saturday we and a team from Freedom Gate did a children's carnival outreach at the
Swap meet in the town of San Carlos. Although it was very humid, over 300 Apache children
attended the carnival. We saw lots of happy smiles on these Apache children when they won
prizes from the carnival games. Each team member had a game booth so we got to interact
one on one with many of these children.

Today the team attended church at the Church of Calvary on the reservation.

Tonight is the start of 4 nights of vacation bible school.

PLEASE PRAY THAT MANY OF THE 300 CHILDREN FROM THE CARNIVAL OUTREACH
IN SAN CARLOS WILL COME TO VBS.

According to Susan at Freedom Gate Church, this was the largest carnival outreach they have
yet to have on an Indian reservation.

All the team members and members of Freedom Gate church enjoyed interacting with the
Apache children and their parents.

We have more to follow and lots of photographs from this outreach.

Jesus loves the little children. Last nights devotional was from Luke 18:16 how Jesus was
admonished for playing with the children by the elders. Jesus told the elders that they must
be like children to enter the gates of heaven.

Jesus loves these Indian children.
